The current issue with the WCWP app is that it is overly minimal. It plays music from WCWP and The Wave but it really does nothing else. WCWP and The Wave provide so much content through a variety of radio shows and live performances. The only issue is ensuring that this content can be easily accessed by users. Creating an app that is engaging to users is essential to increase the reach of the content.
Project goals include:
-Being easily utilized at all LIU events and allows students to listen to their peers at any time.
-To make it easy to access shows and other content run by LIU students.
-Becoming the go-to place to discover and listen to LIU students who make music.
-Keeping students updated on events around campus and where they can go to hear their peers live.
-Helping student hosts and musicians reach a larger audience.
WCWP in its current state, struggles to angle itself as a radio station made for LIU students run by LIU students. It needs to convey itself in this unique multifaceted manner in order to successfully stand out in the era of streaming and serve the LIU community.
